11/13/07 - wzdftpd 0.8.3 Windows installer released

The Windows installer for wzdftpd 0.8.3 is now finally available for download. Please remember to install the latest versions of the required dependencies (OpenSSL as a minimum) as these are deliberately not bundled with the installer.

10/28/07 - wzdftpd 0.8.3 is now available

wzdftpd 0.8.3 is a new maintenance release which fixes a denial of service bug in the USER command (CVE-2007-5300) and corrects some other minor bugs. The most notable bugfixes are corrections to the Documentation/TLS implementation with regards to GnuTLS vs OpenSSL compatibility, better selection of PASV ports from the PASV port range and the addition of proper OpenSSL cleanups to prevent memory leakage.

It has now been a few days since wzdftpd 0.8.2 was officially released. The Windows binaries were uploaded a few minutes ago and are available for download. Windows Vista is now supported but hasn't been thoroughly tested, so your feedback on running wzdftpd in Windows Vista is greatly appreciated.

07/09/07 - wzdftpd 0.8.2 has been released!

06/25/07 - New wzdftpd-0.8.2-rc1 Windows installer available

In case you haven't already noticed, there is a new Windows installer available for download. This release contains some new features and a stack of bugfixes and stability enhancements for the server. It is highly recommended that all Windows users upgrade to this latest version. Windows Vista support is being worked on at the moment and is expected to be fixed soon. Linux releases of 0.8.2-rc1 should also be available shortly, so stay tuned for more!

03/14/07 - SSL-Enabled website and repository

The website and the svn repository are now accessible in secure mode (using SSL). The certificate is self-signed (since certificate authorities ask for completely stupid prices for a signature), so don't worry if the browser/svn client complains about that.

The URL for the secure subversion repository is the same as usual, in https mode. You can use the svn switch command to update your working copy, for example:

svn switch --relocate http://svn.wzdftpd.net/svn/wzdftpd/trunk https://svn.wzdftpd.net/svn/wzdftpd/trunk
svn update

03/05/07 - Download Statistics

Just a little update from the last news post about project statistics - here are some additional download statistics. You can view a graph of the number of downloads of wzdftpd over the history of the project, amongst other stats.

02/28/07 - Project Statistics

Wzdftpd has been registered on ohloh, a website which catalogs and gathers various statistic data on open source software projects. You can get metrics like Source Lines Of Code (SLOC) count, number and time of commits, etc.

02/28/07 - New Job

I have changed my job, and I am now working for INL, a French company developing free software for security, and in particular NuFW, a (the only, at the moment) firewall using authenticated filtering (rules are based on users, not computers, and work even on multi-user computers.

I also changed my working place, I am now on Paris. This explains why I currently not have much time for wzdftpd, at least until things are settled. Yet, wzdftpd is still active, and continues to be developed (just slower than usual ;)

02/01/07 - New Subversion repository

The URL for the subversion repository has changed. You can use the svn switch command to update your working copy, for ex:

svn switch --relocate svn+ssh://svn.cpe.fr/svn/wzdftpd/trunk https://svn.wzdftpd.net/svn/wzdftpd/trunk
svn update

You can get your current svn URL with the svn info command.

02/01/07 - New wzdftpd website

wzdftpd has migrated to a new location (including the subversion repository, forums, etc). We are now using Trac to regroup the wiki, the svn browser, and the bugtracker.

We will try to import everything .. However, you'll probably need to ask for account creation on the IrcChannel. At the moment, an account is needed to report bugs and/or the modify the wiki, to avoid spam.

You can use our htaccess line generator to encrypt your password. After, just paste the line on the IrcChannel, or send it by mail.
